EigenLight Corporation showed off some new technology at this year's OFC/NFOEC conference is San Diego. Innovative new products included the Series 100 tap monitor for OEM (integral tap and photodiode). Attendees were educated about the device's ultra-low insertion loss, high directivity, and technology that excluded lenses and splices. Versions of the actual device were on display, including a view of the inside silicon body and the full miniature hermetic package.
Attendees got a first glance at EigenLight's fixed in-line attenuator for PM fiber. The in-fiber fabrication avoids fusion splices and fiber breaks, and is minute in size, allowing for installation in systems as if it were an unadulterated piece of fiber. An integral feature of this fabrication is an attenuation loss that remains stable across the wavelength spectrum and temperature range. The device is available in attenuations from 0.5 dB up to 20dB.
Also on display were the classic fiber-optic power monitor and power-monitor attenuator, the devices that put EigenLight on the map. EigenLight fiber-optic power monitors remain indispensable tools for measuring power in-line in live systems. Applications include tests in lab and R&D settings, fiber optic manufacturing and product testing.
With the success of the 2010 OFC/NFOEC conference, EigenLight looks forward to next year and to the excitement of new technology to come. For information about the products mentioned above, please contact sales at sales@eigenlight.com
