Corporate Profile
EIGENLIGHT CORPORATION
EigenLight Corporation (pronounced "eye-gun" light) is a US-based manufacturer of in-line fiber optic power monitors and interconnect products. The name "EigenLight" has two meanings, both of which convey an important message about the company and our products. The first meaning comes from the literal translation of the German word "eigen", meaning "special". Formed in combination with the English word "light", the company name means "special light", a phrase that reflects the special look and performance of our products, as well as the international scope of our customer base.
The second, and more important meaning, comes from the English usage of the word "eigen" in engineering and science. In these fields, an eigen-mode or eigen-vector is a mode or vector that passes through a system unchanged. Thus "eigenlight" means "light that passes through (your system) unchanged". All of EigenLight's products reflect this philosophy of transparency and reliability.
