Fiber Optic Tap Monitors for OEM

In-Line Optical Power Measurement for Fiber Optic Systems

EigenLight's Series 100 Optical Tap Power Monitors are used for in-line measurement of power in optical fiber.  These GR-468 Telcordia qualified devices are used in 40G and 100G optical transport systems around the world, as well as in specialty lasers, test instruments, and other applications. The Tap Power Monitor's small, hermetic package houses a stable optical tap and PIN photodiode. By utilizing a patented process to scatter light out of the fiber optic core directly onto the integral detector, these devices maintain fiber continuity and avoid lenses or partial reflectors in the optical path. This provides exceptional performance, including the lowest insertion losses among competing technology, virtually no back-reflection, and directionality to >30 dB. Fiber continuity also means reliability for the most demanding power measurement applications. EigenLight's Fiber Optic Tap Monitors offer cost, size, and performance advantages over conventional discrete coupler and photodiode combinations and is available in virtually all single mode fibers, as well as a wide range of PM fiber types.
